Our Apartment
Inverdon is a quiet, family friendly idyll, (sorry, no parties), enjoying a tranquil setting in the lovely Seafield area of Ayr, right in the heart of Burns country!
Our apartment has two double bedrooms and can accommodate up to 6 people (Maximum 4 adults + 2 children), utilising the very comfortable sofa bed in the lounge. Our lounge has been lovingly restored, bringing back the stunning original ceiling, and has bay windows to the front offering incredible views across the Old Racecourse and Belleisle Golf Course!
Inverdon Lounge
This is our beautiful lounge with stunning views from the bay windows across the Old Racecourse & Belleisle Golf Course!
When you’re in the lounge, please don’t forget to look up as we’d hate you to miss one of our favourite things about Inverdon, the original features. The ornate, original cornicing you’ll see above you was restored a few years ago having been discovered hidden behind an artexed false ceiling!
The ceiling rose was originally in the middle one of three ceiling sections before Inverdon was converted into flats and a third of the lounge was partitioned off to form the kitchen you see today. The third part of the ceiling is still there, above the false ceiling in the kitchen, but we decided having a 20-foot-high kitchen ceiling with ornate cornicing might look a bit daft so we left it.
In the lounge there's a dining area with a circular dining table to the left of the bay windows and a 55” High-Definition Smart TV on which you can access all of the Freeview channels as well as the complimentary Netflix account we provide to say thanks for staying with us!
The Stylish Shower Room
Inverdon Kitchen
Our lovely modern kitchen, complete with integrated oven & hob, washing machine, dishwasher, Tassimo coffee machine with complimentary coffee pods, juicer, toaster, microwave and kettle.
Nowadays, many of our guests enjoy an early morning coffee, breakfast, lunch, dinner or even just for a relaxing seat in The Tower Room, enjoying the fantastic views to the front of Inverdon overlooking The Old Racecourse and beyond.
The Tower Room
This is the contemporary shower room featuring sink with handy wee cupboard underneath, loo and walk-in double rainfall shower. The shower room window overlooks the grounds but don't worry, there's a window blind if you're shy 😀.
Off the kitchen you will find The Tower Room which was incorporated into the original architect's plans by the owner, who wanted somewhere he could go to get a bird’s eye view on Race Day as the expanse of greenery you see in front of Inverdon is the location of Ayr’s original racecourse, until it moved to its current location on Whitletts Road in 1907, hence the names ‘The Old Racecourse’, ‘Racecourse Road’ and ‘Racecourse View’.
Nowadays, many of our guests enjoy an early morning coffee, breakfast, lunch, dinner or even just for a relaxing seat in The Tower Room, enjoying the fantastic views to the front of Inverdon overlooking The Old Racecourse and beyond.
